Media Invitation – Opioid Crisis: What Public Health Is Not Telling Us: An Analysis of Coroner’s Reports Reveal the Real Faces of People Who Die from Overdoses, and the Main Substances Involved

At the request of the Association Québecoise pour la promotion de la santé des usagers de drogue (AQPSUD) as well as its partner organizations, the research team of the Jean-Monbourquette Chair, under the direction by Prof. André- Anne Parent , analyzed the 340 reports of people who died by overdose in 2017.
More than a simple sample, the analysis illustrated the diversity of the substances involved in all overdose deaths, as well as the socio-economic “profile” and the context in which the people died.
