“The number of (confirmed and probable) deaths due to nonpharmaceutical opioids is higher in 2020 YTD than 2019; all seven nonpharmaceutical opioid deaths in 2020 involved fentanyl (compared to two of the four nonpharmaceutical opioid deaths in Jan-Sept 2019 related to fentanyl, and two related to fentanyl analogues),” says the Nova Scotia frontline drug report prepared by the Department of Health and Wellness.
